At Nkwachukwukwelu Charity Foundation, we believe that education is the key to success. On January 20, 2025, our team had the privilege of visiting three primary schools in the Umuoji community, Idemili North LGA, Anambra State, where we provided educational support to over 1,000 pupils.
The schools we visited—Our Lady’s Primary School, Ugwumba Memorial Primary School, and Dimechem Primary School—were filled with bright, eager learners who were excited to receive school bags, exercise books, pencils, pens, erasers, and other essential materials. For some of the children from low-income families, we also paid their school fees to ensure they can continue their education without interruption.
Inspiring Young Minds
During our visit, our founder, Chief Patrick Chukwudubem Muokwue, took time to speak directly to the children, encouraging them to dream big and work hard. He shared this simple yet powerful message:
“I know I can be what I want to be, only if I work hard at it.”
We reminded the pupils that education, hard work, and faith are the foundation for achieving their goals. Chief Muokwue also urged them to stay focused, avoid bad company, and pray for their parents to succeed so they can continue supporting their dreams.
Gratitude from the Community
The response from the community was truly heartwarming. At Our Lady’s Primary School, Rev. Fr. Paul Ejikeme, the parish priest of Our Lady of Seven Sorrows Parish, expressed his deep appreciation for our support. He noted that many of the children at the school come from families struggling to make ends meet, and our intervention was a much-needed relief.
Head teachers from Ugwumba Memorial and Dimechem Primary Schools, Mrs. Angelina Okeke and Mrs. Chidiebere Nwafor, also shared their excitement and gratitude, emphasizing the positive impact our visit will have on the pupils and their families.
Why We Do What We Do
At Nkwachukwukwelu Charity Foundation, our mission is driven by a passion for service and a commitment to uplifting the less privileged. Our founder, Chief Muokwue, shared that this initiative is not tied to politics or any personal gain. Instead, it is fueled by his belief in giving back to the community and supporting the next generation.
“January is a challenging time for many parents,” Chief Muokwue said. “After the festive season, the burden of school fees and educational materials can be overwhelming. We felt this was the right time to step in and lend a helping hand.”
Our Foundation was officially registered in 2023, and since then, we have been focused on empowering communities through education, skills training, and other charitable initiatives. Our goal is to reach 5,000 schoolchildren with educational materials and financial support.
Looking Ahead
While this project focused on Umuoji, we aim to expand our efforts to other rural areas in need. We are also exploring ways to provide skill acquisition programs that will help individuals become self-reliant and support their families.
Chief Muokwue often reflects on the legacy of his late father, Chief Francis Muokwe, who was a well-known philanthropist in their community. “Giving back runs in our family. It brings fulfillment and purpose to our lives,” he shared.
